Tokashiku Beach

Tokashiku Beach on the island's west coast is the less-visited alternative to Aharen, accessible by road but with no village and no facilities. That's the point: Tokashiku is a long, quiet stretch of sand and reef with no shops, no crowds, and nothing to do but swim. The coral garden just offshore is in particularly good shape.

The beach is a short ride from Tokashiki village by scooter (rental available in the village) or taxi. In whale-watching season (January through March), this western coast is a good vantage point for spotting humpbacks offshore.
