The old wooden bathhouse at the center of Dogo Onsen, and the most atmospheric place to bathe in Matsuyama. The Honkan is a multi-tiered wooden building that has been in operation since 1894, and looks it — in the best possible way. There are several bathing options at different price points, from simple communal baths to private rooms with tea and yukata robes.
Dogo Onsen as a whole is one of Japan's most famous hot spring districts, with the hot-spring streets and surrounding ryokan forming a pleasant area to wander in the evening.
