Matsuyama has one of Japan's few surviving tram networks, and it is the easiest way to move between the city center and Dogo Onsen. The flat fare is around ¥180 and a day pass is available for around ¥800. The main tram lines run frequently throughout the day.
The city center is compact enough to walk between attractions around the castle and shopping arcades. Bicycles can be rented near Matsuyama Station and at Dogo Onsen, and are a good option for a day of exploring. Taxis are available but not especially cheap by Japanese standards.
