Matsuyama Airport connects to Tokyo (Haneda and Narita), Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and a few other cities, making it one of the more accessible cities on Shikoku. The airport is about 15 minutes by bus from the city center.
By rail, Matsuyama is served by limited express trains from Okayama on the San'in Main Line via the Seto-Ohashi Bridge — the journey takes about two and a half hours from Okayama. From Kochi, the Express Shimanto runs through the mountains in about two hours. The Matsuyama Station handles JR trains; city trams run from near the station through the center to Dogo Onsen.
Ferries also connect Matsuyama to Hiroshima in around an hour by high-speed boat — a scenic crossing of the Seto Inland Sea.
