Ganshōji Temple is a Nara-period temple outside central Mima, best known for its old dry landscape garden. The stone garden is said to date from the Nanbokuchō period and uses the same ishigumi stone-setting tradition associated with Kyoto's Tenryū-ji.
It is a quiet stop rather than a large temple complex, but the age of the site and the garden's Shikoku rarity make it worth seeking out if you are exploring Mima's historic side.
