Seifū-sō is a historic garden and tea-house site in central Yamagata. The garden began as part of a temple complex, but the temple buildings disappeared after the Meiji Restoration, leaving the landscaped grounds as the main draw.
The present tea house dates from 1954. It is a quiet stop for travellers who want a small, traditional garden close to Yamagata's central sights.
