Salt is about 30 km west of Amman and easily reached by public transport. Minibuses leave frequently from Amman's Muhajireen bus station (near the 6th Circle) and cost around 700 fils. The journey takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. Shared taxis also operate the route for slightly more.
There is no train service. If you are driving, Salt is signed from the main road west of Amman toward the Dead Sea — you turn north before reaching the descent. The winding approach road through the hills gives a good sense of the town's elevated position before you arrive.
