Souq Food Stalls

The souq in Salt has a handful of stalls and small eateries selling quick food for market-goers: falafel and hummus in the morning, grilled chicken and sandwiches through the afternoon. These are not sit-down places but standing counters with a few stools. The quality is consistently good and the cost is minimal.

Bread from the wood-fired bakeries in the souq lanes is worth buying even if you have no immediate use for it: the flatbreads come out of the oven hot and are sold by weight. The smell of baking bread and roasting spices is one of the sensory pleasures of walking through the market in the morning.
