Maqam Nabi Yusha is a hilltop shrine and mausoleum a few kilometres northwest of Salt, traditionally associated with the prophet Joshua. The site sits on a ridge with wide views across the hills of Gilead, and the landscape itself is part of the appeal. The shrine is a simple domed structure maintained as an active religious site.
The surrounding area is part of the broader landscape of sacred sites that makes the hills around Salt distinctive. Getting here requires either a taxi or a car — it is too far to walk from the town centre. The drive through the agricultural villages of the Balqa region is pleasant in its own right.
