Perched on a rocky outcrop about 10 kilometres south of the village, this small stone ruin is traditionally associated with T.E. Lawrence, though the connection is almost entirely romantic fiction. The building is a simple rectangular structure, partially collapsed, with walls of stacked sandstone blocks.
What makes the stop worthwhile is not the ruin itself but the setting. The house sits high enough to offer sweeping views across the desert in every direction, and the approach involves a short scramble up the rocks. On a clear day, the panorama takes in the full spread of Wadi Rum's central valley.
The site is included on most full-day jeep tours. Your guide will tell you the Lawrence story with varying degrees of conviction. Enjoy the view, take a photograph, and do not worry too much about historical accuracy.
