Vostok Stadium is the city's main football venue, a large open-air ground built during the Soviet period and now home to FC Vostok — the local football club that competes in the Kazakhstan Premier League. The stadium holds around 12,000 spectators and has seen periodic renovation since independence.
Football crowds in Ust-Kamenogorsk are modest by comparison with the city's ice hockey following, but a summer match at Vostok is an easy and cheap way to spend an evening alongside local fans. The ground is also used for athletics events and occasional concerts.
