Salmiya is not walkable in summer — daytime temperatures make outdoor activity uncomfortable from June to September. In the cooler months (October to April) the Marina Crescent and Salem Al-Mubarak Street are pleasant on foot. Taxis to Kuwait City take 10 to 15 minutes and are cheap by international standards. Uber and Careem operate throughout Salmiya. There is no metro; buses run but are primarily used by the migrant workforce rather than tourists.
