A serious Japanese restaurant in central Bishkek, run by a long-resident Japanese family and one of the few places in Central Asia where you can get good sashimi, tempura and chawanmushi. The fish is flown in from Almaty; the rest of the menu is anchored in homestyle Japanese cooking that does not bend to local tastes.
The decor is restrained — tatami booths, a sushi counter — and prices are higher than at Kyrgyz restaurants, but moderate by international standards. Reservations recommended at weekends.
