PK Bar

Relaxed bar in the town centre, popular with trekkers in the evenings

PK Bar is about as close to a proper evening bar as Karakol gets outside of the few hotel bars. It occupies a comfortable interior with a mixture of wooden furniture, Soviet-era memorabilia on the walls, and a drinks menu that runs to local beer (Arpa, Baltika), vodka, and a handful of cocktails. The food is simple — shashlik, bread, salads — and designed to be eaten alongside drinks rather than as a full meal.

The crowd in summer is a reliable mix of trekkers ending a route, local young people, and the occasional visiting NGO worker. Evenings are quiet by international standards but lively by Karakol standards; expect things to wind down by midnight. Closed in the depths of winter or reduced to minimal hours.
