Karakol Animal Market is one of Kyrgyzstan's larger livestock markets, held early on Sunday mornings north of the town centre. Travellers come less to shop than to watch the bustle of sheep, horses, sellers, buyers, and old cars loading up for the trip home, with the mountains in the background on clear days.
