Getting There

Ehden is about 120 km north of Beirut by road, a drive of roughly two to two and a half hours depending on traffic. The most direct route from Beirut takes the coastal highway north to Chekka, then climbs inland through Kousba and Zgharta. The mountain road above Zgharta is steep and winding but well-maintained, and the views as you climb are part of the appeal.

There is no direct public transport to Ehden. The closest major town with bus connections is Tripoli (about 35 km away by road), from where a taxi or shared service taxi can cover the remaining distance. Hiring a car in Beirut is the most practical option for most visitors, especially if you plan to explore the wider area. The mountain roads around Ehden are fine for ordinary cars in summer; four-wheel drive is useful but not essential.

Petrol is available in Zgharta and occasionally in Ehden itself. Check fuel before heading up, especially if you plan to continue to Bcharre or the Cedars.
