At 2,032 metres, Gunung Brinchang is the highest peak in the Cameron Highlands and one of the few summits in Peninsular Malaysia accessible without a serious expedition. The hike takes around two hours from the trailhead near Boh Tea Plantation, following a mossy, root-tangled path through montane cloud forest.
The summit has a viewing platform offering panoramic views across the highlands and, on clear days, as far as the plains of Perak. Early morning ascents are best for visibility — cloud rolls in by midday most days.
A paved road also reaches near the top, so it is possible to arrange a ride up and walk down instead. In the evening, the summit area offers clear views of the city lights of Ipoh below.
