Cherating has a low-key bar scene — hammocks, cold beer, and not much else. The beach bars attached to guesthouses are the social hub of the village, but things wind down early compared to beach towns further south or in Thailand. The vibe is more "lie in a hammock and watch the stars" than "dance until 3am", which is exactly why most people are here.
