Kluang Railway Station has been a presence in the town since 1909 and was the original reason the settlement grew into the town it is today. The station sits on the KTM main line connecting Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur, and the tracks bisect the town centre — when trains pass, the level crossing closes and the town pauses. It is a small and characterful moment of Malaysian small-town life.
The station building was rebuilt in 2024 as part of the electrification of the main line. The old colonial-era white station building has been replaced, but the coffee shop and some of the original character have been retained in the new complex. The station handles KTM ETS electric train services north and south, making Kluang well-connected despite its modest size.
