Pasir Bogak is the most popular beach on Pangkor, on the western shore about 15 minutes by road from the ferry jetty. The sand is white and reasonably clean, the water is calm and warm, and there is a decent selection of guesthouses and restaurants along the beachfront road. It gets busy at weekends and Malaysian school holidays; on a weekday in the shoulder season it is relaxed and uncrowded.
The swimming is good and the snorkelling is decent — there are some coral outcrops in the shallower water to the north. Kayaks and banana boats are available for hire from beach vendors. In the evening the restaurants behind the beach serve excellent fresh seafood: grilled fish, steamed clams, and the deep-fried soft-shell crab that is something of a local speciality.
