Wisma Sanyan is Sibu's blunt vertical landmark, a high-rise office and shopping complex that long ranked among the tallest buildings in Sarawak. It is not beautiful, but it is impossible to miss and very much part of the town's turn-of-the-century confidence.
Travellers mostly use it for practical errands, shopping, air-conditioning, and orientation. In a low river town, a tower this plain still becomes a landmark.
