Tioman's beaches line the west coast, each one a separate kampung with its own cluster of guesthouses and restaurants. The east coast has just one beach settlement at Juara, which is harder to reach but rewards the effort with fewer crowds and better surf. Water taxis connect the west coast beaches, or you can hike between some of them on jungle trails.
