Tioman is first and foremost an outdoor island. Diving and snorkelling dominate, but there is good jungle trekking, surfing on the east coast during monsoon swell, and enough marine life to keep a snorkeller happy for days. The island's interior is largely untouched rainforest, and the cross-island trek from Tekek to Juara is one of the best half-day hikes in Peninsular Malaysia.
