The International Intellectual Museum is one of Ulaanbaatar's more unusual small museums, devoted to puzzles, logic games, chess sets, and mechanical curiosities. Its collection is playful but not trivial: many objects connect to Mongolian craftsmanship and the pleasure of solving something with your hands and eyes.
It is a good counterweight to the capital's larger historical and religious museums. Expect a compact visit, and take time to try the puzzles if staff offer demonstrations. For families or anyone who likes clever objects, it is one of the city's more memorable indoor stops.
