BBB (Burma Bite Bistro) became a fixture on the backpacker trail for its Western-friendly menu in a country where European food was hard to find. Located near the palace moat in central Mandalay, it serves steaks, pasta, and coconut fish alongside Burmese dishes. The steak with mushrooms — the "N-steak" as it appeared on the original handwritten menu — acquired something of a cult following among travellers arriving overland.
The atmosphere is relaxed and the location convenient for the palace area. Prices are modest by any Western standard.
