Roadhouse is one of the most reliable Italian restaurants in Thamel, with three outlets in different parts of the city. The Thamel branch does excellent wood-fired pizza — a creditable production given the location — and a pasta menu that holds up. The atmosphere is relaxed, the portions are generous, and it is reasonably priced for what it delivers.
The restaurant has been going long enough to have established a reputation among returning trekkers and travellers who know that after two weeks eating dal bhat on the trail, a decent pizza is what the body is asking for. The salsa dance studio upstairs from one of the branches gives the building an oddly festive double identity.
