Getting There

Khasab is most easily reached by a short domestic flight from Muscat — the journey takes about an hour and flights operate several times a week. A high-speed ferry also runs between Shinas (on the Oman coast south of the UAE border) and Khasab; the crossing takes around two hours and offers views of the peninsula coast. Driving overland from the rest of Oman requires crossing UAE territory twice, which adds significant time and complexity; most visitors fly or take the ferry. Road access from the UAE side (via Tibat) requires appropriate visas for both countries.
