October to April is the most comfortable season. Summer temperatures regularly exceed 45°C, and the combination of heat and humidity makes outdoor activity miserable from June to September. December and January bring cooler air and the best conditions for dhow cruises and mountain driving. The Khareef monsoon that brings cooling rains to Salalah does not reach this far north, so Khasab has no rainy season — it is bone dry year-round.
