Gatwala Forest Park is a large green space on the western edge of Faisalabad — one of the more unusual parks in Punjab, developed around a planted forest rather than the usual manicured lawns. The park includes walking paths through the trees, a small zoo, boating on a lake, and various recreational areas that draw families from across the city, especially on weekends and public holidays.
The relative abundance of shade and the scale of the park make it genuinely pleasant in cooler months. In summer, the combination of heat and crowds can make it a different experience. The park is about 8 km from the city centre and most easily reached by auto-rickshaw or taxi.
