Chiraghdin Tikka Shop

Charcoal-grilled mutton tikka on Sialkot Road

Chiraghdin is one of the names Gujranwala people invoke when they argue about the best tikka in Punjab. The shop is simple — a tin roof, a row of charcoal grills, plastic tables — and the menu is essentially mutton, served as boti tikka or chops with fresh nan, raita and sliced onion. Go at lunchtime or early evening before the meat runs out.

There are several branches and a number of imitators with similar names. The one on Sialkot Road is the original and still the busiest.
