Gujranwala sits on the Grand Trunk Road and the main Karachi–Lahore–Peshawar railway, which makes it easy to reach from anywhere in Punjab. Lahore is about 80 km south — an hour by car on the M-2 motorway, ninety minutes by train. From Islamabad it is about three hours by car.
The Gujranwala railway station has frequent intercity services to Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and points beyond. The Daewoo bus terminal on GT Road is the best bet for long-distance coach travel — cleaner, faster and more reliable than the local bus stand.
The nearest international airport is Allama Iqbal in Lahore (about 90 minutes). A small domestic airport at Sialkot, 50 km north, has some international connections to the Gulf and the UK.
