Just inside Sheranwala Bagh is the samadhi of Mahan Singh, Maharaja Ranjit Singh's father and one of the Sukerchakia chieftains who consolidated Sikh power in this part of Punjab in the late 18th century. The small octagonal pavilion has a fluted dome and traces of fresco inside. It is unguarded and easily missed in the bustle of the gardens.
For visitors with an interest in Sikh history, the samadhi rounds out a short walking circuit with Sheranwala Bagh, the baradari, and the haveli a few hundred metres away.
