Nablus is 63 kilometres north of Ramallah and about 100 kilometres north of Jerusalem. Shared taxis (service taxis) run regularly from Ramallah's main shared taxi station, taking roughly an hour. From Jerusalem, the journey involves crossing an Israeli checkpoint and changing vehicles at Ramallah; allow two hours minimum.
There is no airport serving Nablus. Travellers coming from Jordan cross at the Allenby Bridge (King Hussein Bridge) border crossing between Jordan and the West Bank, then travel north by shared taxi or private car.
Access to Nablus depends on the current political situation; roads and checkpoints can be affected by closures. Check conditions before travelling. EU and most Western nationals do not need a visa for the Palestinian Authority areas.
