Jacob's Well is a major Christian pilgrimage site on the edge of Nablus, traditionally linked to the meeting between Jesus and the Samaritan woman in the Gospel of John. Jewish, Christian, and Samaritan traditions also connect the place with Jacob near ancient Shechem.
The well is inside a Greek Orthodox church and can usually be visited, though opening hours are not always predictable. Arrange local transport from central Nablus rather than trying to approach through unfamiliar side roads.
