The largest Commonwealth war cemetery in the Pacific, holding more than 3,800 Australian and other Allied dead from the 1942–45 New Guinea campaign — most of them killed along the Kokoda Track which starts just a few kilometres away. Beautifully tended lawns and a moving memorial chapel. 15 km north of the city on the way to the Sogeri plateau.
