Eating out in Port Moresby is expensive by regional standards — most restaurants cater to expats and diplomats, concentrated in the hotels and in the Harbour City precinct. Chinese restaurants are plentiful and reliable; for PNG flavours look for a place serving mumu (food slow-cooked in a pit of hot stones) or grilled sago pancakes. Always arrange a taxi to and from dinner.
