Jacksons International Airport (POM), 8 km northeast of the centre, is Papua New Guinea's main airport and the hub of Air Niugini. Direct international flights connect to Brisbane, Sydney, Cairns, Singapore, Hong Kong, Manila, Tokyo and Denpasar. Domestic flights from POM fan out to every major town in the country. Most hotels offer a complimentary airport shuttle — take it; do not try to hail a taxi independently on arrival.
