Alaminos Cathedral

The Saint Joseph the Patriarch Cathedral Parish — known locally as Alaminos Cathedral — sits at the heart of Barangay Poblacion, the old centre of the city. The current structure is a mid-twentieth-century concrete church, though a parish has stood on this site since the Spanish colonial period. The cathedral serves as the seat of the Diocese of Alaminos, one of the smaller dioceses in northern Luzon.

It is worth a brief stop if you have time before or after your island-hopping trip. The interior is cool and quiet, with coloured glass windows filtering the afternoon light and the usual devotional images of local patron saints. Mass is held several times daily; check the schedule posted on the front doors if you want to attend.
