Oasis Pub

The Oasis is one of the better arguments for getting away from the neon of Fields Avenue. It runs a weekly rotation of live music — jazz on Monday, retro on Tuesday, acoustic and R&B on Thursday — and the quality is genuinely good. The bar stocks a full range of spirits and runs a happy hour from 6 to 8 p.m. with half-price local beers.

The crowd here is more mixed than at the entertainment-strip venues: expats, business visitors, and locals who want a drink without the attendant complications of Balibago. It is the kind of pub where you can have a conversation. Dress is casual, service is relaxed, and the prices are reasonable.
