Calamba City
About two hours from Binan, Calamba is the hot spring capital of the Philippines. Options include Palmridge Private Resort, C3Y Villa Private Hot Spring Resort, Villafranca Resort, and Batu-Bato Mountain Resort. It is also the birthplace of national hero Jose Rizal — his childhood home and related historical sites are easy to find with help from the local tourism board.
Muntinlupa City
Only 6.6 kilometres from Binan, Muntinlupa mixes agricultural land with urban development. Shopping options include Alabang Town Center, Festival Supermall, and Metropolis Mall. For something less commercial, Jamboree Lake is reportedly the smallest lake in the Philippines. The city hosts colourful festivals throughout the year, including the Banhayan Festival in September and the Bulaklakan Festival in May.
