Splash City Water Park

The largest water park in the Philippines, with six major slides and family pools

Splash City sits along the South Super Highway in Binan and bills itself as the largest water park in the Philippines — a claim backed by twelve water attractions spread across a substantial site. Six major slides carry different names and varying degrees of terror: Magellan's Drop, King Pilipit, The Dos Sopremos, Twisted Palms, The Big Bam Boo, and Taisig Trails cover the spectrum from long lazy spirals to near-vertical drops. The remaining six attractions are pitched at younger children, including an interactive kiddy pool that keeps smaller visitors occupied while adults tackle the bigger rides. It is the kind of place that works well as a full-day outing, particularly on a hot weekend.

Getting there from central Binan is straightforward — the park is visible from the highway and well signed. Bring sunscreen in quantity; the exposed water areas give you no shelter between rides. Weekdays are noticeably less crowded than weekends, and the queues for the major slides can get long on public holidays. The park has the usual complement of food stalls and lockers for hire. If you are coming from Manila, Splash City makes a reasonable destination in its own right, close enough for a day trip without requiring an overnight stay.
