Getting Around

Tagbilaran itself is small enough to cover on foot or by tricycle (the local three-wheeled motorised taxi). For exploring Bohol's sights outside town, the options are hiring a motorbike or scooter — by far the most flexible — or taking an organised day tour that covers the Chocolate Hills, Tarsier Sanctuary, and Loboc River.

Habal-habal (motorcycle taxis) are available at the Tagbilaran terminal and can take you to sights within 30 km cheaply. For the Chocolate Hills (55 km away), a scooter rental is the most practical option. Several rental shops operate near the pier and downtown area. Jeepneys run between Tagbilaran and major towns on regular routes but are slow and infrequent — fine for the Baclayon or Bool trip, less practical for the interior.
