Skeleton Wreck

Snorkellable Japanese wreck just off Lusong Island

Address Coron Bay, Palawan

The Skeleton Wreck — a small Japanese gunboat or auxiliary vessel sunk in the September 1944 raid — lies at depths between 5 and 22 metres just off Lusong Island and is the only Coron wreck genuinely accessible to snorkellers. The bow rises to within a few metres of the surface, encrusted in soft corals and patrolled by reef fish.

It's a standard stop on the wreck-and-reef day tour out of Coron town. Divers descend along the hull to the deeper stern; snorkellers float above the upper structure. Visibility is best on calm, sunny mornings.
