The standard route to Guimaras is via Iloilo City. Small pump-boats and faster fast-craft run from Ortiz Wharf in central Iloilo to Jordan Wharf on Guimaras — the crossing takes about fifteen minutes. There is also a roll-on/roll-off ferry from Iloilo's Parola for vehicles. Ferries start before dawn and run until early evening.
From Jordan, tricycles, jeepneys, and rental motorbikes get you to the beaches and to the lighthouses in the south. The road around the island is paved but slow; budget at least an hour to reach Nueva Valencia from Jordan.
