The National Mango Research and Development Center, on the road between Jordan and Buenavista, is the institution responsible for protecting and improving the Guimaras mango. Visitors can walk through the experimental orchards, see the grafting and induction facilities, and buy fresh mangoes in season. During the May harvest festival the centre hosts mango-eating contests and tastings.
A small visitor area explains the cultivation cycle and the use of smudge pots in flower induction. It is more interesting than it sounds — Guimaras takes its mangoes seriously.
