Camiña Balay Nga Bato is a restored heritage house that shows Iloilo at its most graceful: hardwood floors, capiz-shell windows, and the domestic architecture of a prosperous river-trade city. It is lived-in heritage rather than a sterile period room.
The visit is usually tied to local food and table culture, especially thick tsokolate served in the old style. That makes it a good counterpoint to Iloilo's churches and markets, because it lets you sit inside the social world those buildings came from.
