Kalinga is a mountain province for travellers willing to make the effort: whitewater on the Chico River, treks into living indigenous villages, and rice terraces less famous (and far less visited) than those at Banaue but cut from the same dramatic landscape. Most visits begin in Tabuk, the provincial capital, and push west and north into the highlands from there.
