Tricycles — motorcycles with a sidecar — are the primary way to move around Koronadal City. They are everywhere, inexpensive, and will take you anywhere within the city proper. Fares start at around 10 to 15 pesos for a short hop; agree on the price before you get in if it seems unclear. Tricycles cover the city centre and most residential barangays comfortably.
Jeepneys run fixed routes along the main roads connecting the city centre to outlying barangays and the national highway. They are slower than tricycles but cheaper for longer distances along their routes.
For destinations outside the city — Lake Sebu, General Santos, the highland barangays — habal-habal (motorcycle taxis) are the practical choice. A single driver takes one or two passengers on the back of a motorbike, and this is how most people travel the narrower roads into the surrounding mountains. Fares are negotiable; settle on a price before departure and factor in the return journey if you need a pickup.
The city centre itself is walkable. The plaza, the cathedral, the market, and most commercial streets are within a few minutes of each other on foot.
