Manila Ocean Park sits on the reclamation area behind Quirino Grandstand at the edge of Rizal Park, combining a serious oceanarium with marine-themed entertainment. The main attraction is the walk-through underwater tunnel, where sharks, rays, and large pelagic fish swim overhead. There is also a jellyfish gallery, a coral reef exhibit, and a section on endemic Philippine marine species.
The park is well-suited to families with children and takes about two hours. The location adjacent to Rizal Park makes it easy to combine with a morning walk through the park and a visit to the National Museum complex. The oceanarium component is the highlight; the surrounding entertainment attractions (sea lion shows, penguins in air-conditioned enclosures) are more formulaic.
