Malacanang Palace is the official residence and working seat of the Philippine president, with a history that runs from Spanish governors-general through the American colonial period to the modern republic. The riverside complex is not a casual walk-in sight: security is strict and much of the palace is closed.
The visitor-facing part is the Museo ng Malacanang, which gives the most practical way to see the compound's history, state rooms and presidential memorabilia. Check access before making the trip, as rules can change around official business.
